About MBNA
The Metroplex Black Nurses Association-Dallas,
Inc. (MBNA), located in Dallas, Texas was charted in April, 1999.
MBNA is composed of Registered Nurses and Licensed Vocational Nurses
within the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. MBNA is a chapter of the
National Black Nurses Association, Inc. (NBNA). NBNA is a
professional nursing organization representing more than 150,000
Black nurses throughout the United States.
Mission
Promoting Positive Health Behaviors through
Community Service
Purpose
-
To define and determine the nursing care for
Black consumers and to advocate for optimum quality of care.

To act as a network and a unifying vehicle for
all Black nurses and nursing students.

To recruit, counsel, and assist Blacks into the
nursing profession and to ensure a constant procession of Blacks into
the nursing profession.

Serve as the local nursing body to influence
legislation and policies that affect African Americans by working
independently and in partnership with other organizations.

To improve the health status of undeserved
communities by health fairs, screenings, and educational session.

To provide an avenue for educational growth,
publish and to participate in research.

To collaborate with communities and community organizations.

To monitor and address the health care issues
impacting the communities.

To foster the initiation and maintenance of
healthy behaviors and wellness through community based educational programs.

To make acknowledgement of cultural issues
relating to personal values, needs, and goals for promoting wellness.

To provide a networking avenue for professional nurses.
